A warm welcome from Melita Guest House of Stratford
A warm welcome from Melita Guest House of Stratford

....perfect location in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon close to the RSC theatre, River Avon and shops

The Melita was built in 1888 and is one of the larger Victorian buildings in Stratford-upon-Avon. Originally the house was owned by Mr George Boyden who was the proprietor of The Stratford Herald Newspaper. Marie Correlli, the novelist, and local socialite visited George, and described it as a 'happy home'.

The property became a bed and breakfast in 1935 and has been welcoming theatre goers and visitors to Stratford ever since. The old name for Malta was Melita and the property was given this name  by an earlier proprietor who loved the island.

Although much has changed since those early days The Melita remains a very happy and homely place to stay, and provides it's guests with all the modern conveniences and comforts that todays visitor has come to expect. A guest was heard to say that the buisiness was run with  relaxed efficiency which we hope is true.We endevour to provide guests with a happy place to stay, without compromising service.

The Melita B&B has for several years enjoyed 4 star Guest Accommodation rating with the English Tourist Board

N.B Melita B&B is a totally non-smoking establishment.
